Ricardo Primata began his musical studies at the age of 11, on a course of popular guitar. Then he went on to study classical guitar in the course of extension of the Federal University of Bahia, but never left the guitar aside, devoting hours of his life to the study of the instrument, including private teachers. In his early teens, he began to make presentations in public, playing classical guitar at school fairs openings and playing guitar in some bands. At 15, he formed his first metal band that later came to be called "ANGKOR" with a peculiar style and own compositions, that combined heavy metal to classical, flamenco and Brazilian music.
In early 2002, set up his progressive rock project called RITMIA, which in 2004 launched the 1st CD, produced and mixed by him with 10 tracks wandering through different rhythms and with the participation of great musicians.
the Ritmia does not follow any of the conventional formulas of styles already pre-designed by the market. The initiative to bring something new to the ears of the people, rendered Ricardo Primate, many praise from critics radio, newspapers, websites, among others, as the magazine Guitar Player, December 2004 published an interview with him and said: "powerful Riffs, solos well built and good compositions are quality Bahian guitarist Ricardo Primata."
because of their work, Ricardo Primata allied to the endorsers of cast companies M.Laghus Custom Basses and Guitars and T. Miranda Custom Effects. Recently, it has partnered with pickups company Spanich Pickups. Fulfilling thus their desire to work alongside quality companies.
Currently, Ricardo Primata conducts workshops and teaches private lessons in guitar and classical guitar with CD's and handouts developed by him during the years of education. He is studying Composition and Conducting at the School of the Federal University of Bahia Music, and has just released the CD of his band Rock / Heavy, SLOW. Parallel to all this, he is promoting his instrumental work, the EP VISIONS, a disc with four tracks, with a preview of its instrumental CD that will be released in early 2008. Ricardo is running in the V Music Festival Radio Educator, with his music, recently recorded, "at the heart of the jungle".
